Nothing get’s in the way of true love. Katerina met Nate through her best friend.  Her best friend just happens to be Nate’s cousin. Sparks started to fly and then Nate went back home to Virginia.  Nate has the amazing job of protecting our Nation as a member of the United States Navy.  But as I said, nothing gets in the way of true love.  A little while later, he came back to Tampa to visit his family and met up with Katerina and the rest is history. A short while later, Katerina moved up to Virginia and Nate proposed to her.

Nate and Kat were planning a large summertime wedding up in Virginia and then the pandemic struck.  Nate and Kat decided that instead of the large wedding, they wanted a more intimate wedding for their family and friends.  Thankfully they did because I got to spend their precious day with them.  It is always a privilege to photograph a wedding, knowing that I get to spend the day with the couple and share with them some of the most intimate moments of their day.

Nate and Kat chose to get married in the backyard of Kat’s mothers house and it was the perfect venue.  Using their resources and their friendly neighborhood connections, the wedding took place in the neighbor’s backyard on the right and Nate and his best man got ready in the house on the left.  That left the party at Katerina’s mothers house.

The day started out with menacing clouds in the sky and there was an unspoken concern that the wedding day may end up a soggy one.  By the time the ceremony was to start, all the clouds had changed from the dark gray variety to the white puffy type.  It ended up being the most beautiful day.

Some say that when they are getting married, that they are, “Taking the plunge.”  Well Nate and Kat “took the plunge” in the ceremony and at the end of the evening as well when, surrounded by friends and family they jumped into the pool.  It was the perfect way to end the evening.
